Located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town, Ern I Tang Heritage Inn is located in a restored building from the 1800s. Spanning an area of 3 shop house units, the property features free WiFi, a restaurant and small museum on the ground floor, which used to be a medical hall. Air wells, timber flooring, five foot walkways, steep heritage wooden staircases and Chinese roof tiles are part of the property which is 328 feet from Pinang Peranakan Mansion and 1640 feet from Fort Cornwallis. Penang Jetty is about 1969 feet away, while Penang International Airport is accessible with a 15 km drive.

Tastefully-furnished, air-conditioned rooms come with parquet flooring, a satellite TV, electric kettle and freshly-laundered bedding. The attached bathroom includes shower and bidet facility. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Great hospitality and I was always greeted with a smile. My room was always clean. It felt like home. I was on the 2nd floor but they had a pulley to deliver my luggage so that was really cool. I really enjoyed the heritage building with original windows.
