What this plan covers

Families who want a theme-park day and a city outing get two different rhythms here. Spend Day 1 at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, choosing the Theme Park, Water Park or both around your children’s interests. Day 2 begins at JB Sentral, continues by car or e-hailing to the mosque, then follows the heritage quarter on foot to Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and the Glass Temple. Arrange the LEGOLAND visit first: the parks have different usual weekday closures, and holiday schedules can vary.

LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort

LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort has a Theme Park and a separate Water Park. The Water Park features more than 20 slides, rides, shows and water games. The separate parks let you shape the day around what your children enjoy. Focus on the Theme Park, choose the Water Park for its slides and water games, or visit both if the operating calendar suits your dates.

Good to know

Check before you go: the Theme Park is generally closed on Wednesdays and the Water Park on Tuesdays, though holiday schedules may differ. Check the resort calendar and opening-hours page. Proper swimwear is required; children under three need waterproof swim diapers in the water. Make the resort your starting point and arrange a ride there before the day. Choose the Theme Park, Water Park or both once you have checked the operating calendar.

Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque

The earliest mosque in Johor Bahru began construction in 1892 and officially opened on February 2, 1900. Its design blends colonial-era and local influences, including a Moghul-style roof and traditional limas roof elements. Set on a hill beside the Tebrau Strait, the mosque offers a striking stop on the city route. Its marble floor panels came from Italy, while colored glass from Venice was used in its dome.

Jalan Tan Hiok Nee heritage street

Culture 1.5 hours
Jalan Tan Hiok Nee

The street commemorates Tan Hiok Nee, a pepper and clove merchant associated with Johor Bahru during Sultan Abu Bakar’s era. Johor’s state government designated it a cultural street to preserve the area’s Chinese cultural heritage, and it now connects the business area on a pedestrian-friendly route. Its pedestrian-friendly route gives children a chance to stretch their legs between city stops. The street’s cultural-street designation and Chinese heritage make it a change of pace from the park and the mosque.

Good to know

Make a food pause at Chaiwalla & Co. Container Café for tea, milkshakes, pastries or cakes at 36 Jalan Tan Hiok Nee. Amphawa Boat Noodle, at 32 Jalan Ibrahim/Tan Hiok Nee, serves Thai boat noodles. From Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque, walk about 26 minutes on foot.

Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple

Culture 45 minutes
Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple

One of Johor’s oldest temples, it was established in 1922. Its interior uses colorful glass and mirrors, and it was recognized as the country’s first glass temple. Stained-glass mirrors cover most of the walls, ceiling and pillars, so the interior offers plenty for children to look at. Take a quiet pause here after the walk through the heritage quarter.

Good to know

Daily opening hours are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Dress modestly and remove your shoes where asked. Check current ticket prices before visiting. From Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, walk about 24 minutes on foot.

Yes, if you give the first day to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort and the second to the city stops. Pick the Theme Park, Water Park or both based on the children’s interests. The city day includes a car or e-hailing ride to the mosque, followed by walks to Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and the Glass Temple.
What should I book or check first?

Pack proper swimwear if the Water Park is on your list; exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornaments are not allowed on its attractions. Children under three need waterproof swim diapers in the water. Dress modestly at the mosque and temple, remove shoes where asked, and bring rain cover for afternoon showers.
How do we get around between the city stops?
Take a car or e-hailing ride from JB Sentral to the mosque; it is about 6 minutes by car or e-hailing ride, longer in traffic. Walk about 26 minutes on foot to Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, then about 24 minutes on foot to the Glass Temple.
Where should we stay for these two days?
